| Display Cases: | |||||||||||
These cases are sized to match my architectural drawer cases. They fit together in a coordinated manner and -more importantly -the doors are hinged and sized to open even when the cases are side-by-side and stacked top-to-bottom. HOW IT ALL WORKS: My cases are made up of three parts:
The case sets below come with the door attached to the case, but you will need to buy shelves separately -IF you need them. You can also buy the case without a door. A case without a door gives you a more contemporary -less formal look, but offers no protection to your collection. It's also more economical. If you later decide to add a door -it's easily done, but you will need some basic tools and a few minutes of time. The doors also fit my drawer cases. This allows you to either make really BIG display cases, or make base cabinets with doors in a wonderful variety of sizes and shapes. |

BOX: The box itself is made of furniture-grade particle board that is filled, sanded, and painted with light gray primer. This primer is unobtrusive and attractive as it is, but if you were to paint it to match or compliment the walls of your room, -so much the better. Most of the cases, (not the widest ones) have slots in the sides to slide shelves in and out. These slots are approximately 2" apart to allow you a wide variety of options in setting up your display. SHELVES ARE NOT INCLUDED! You need to buy shelves separately. This allows you to get EXACTLY what you need and want.)
DOORS: The doors are framed in solid oak that is given an attractive and simple beveled edge. The wood is finished with shellac and paste wax. The color is a medium warm oak with a very nice hand. It is attached with two stout hinges that allow the doors to open even when the cases are butted together. Magnetic catches hold the cases closed and help keep the dust out. A catch is included with each door. If you buy the door as an afterthought though, you will need to install the catch yourself.
SHELVES etc. You may order shelves separately to make the case display your collection perfectly. Be sure to note the dimensions of the case you have chosen. Additionally, A Door Lock can be added for safety and security. I can also install Lights in the door to REALLY high-light your items. (Makes it all look a little garish, but for certain items -lights would be just the ticket.) A case can not have both a lock and a light.
